Pioneer Womens Trail

Adelaide Hills

The Pioneer Women’s Trail was rediscovered by members of the Hahndorf and Burnside Branches of the National Trust, and Walking SA in 1980. The annual Pioneer Women’s Trail Walk retraces the steps of the women and girls from Hahndorf to Beaumont House. Our walk of 26km ends there, but they would have continued for another 9km into central Adelaide. Since the event started in 2009 many hundreds of women, men and children have followed in their footsteps.

Adelaide Marathon

Adelaide

Adelaide Marathon is South Australia’s premier running event, and runs along all the major scenic locations within the Adelaide CBD. In 2022, Adelaide will host the 44th edition of this iconic race, which has run without a break now, and probably the only race in Australia that was held even during the heights of COVID-19, in a safe setting. The race is run along a 2-lap course and has an elevation gain of roughly 60 meters, which is nearly flat. The course is very spectator friendly and allows spectators to get to different parts of the course to cheer on the runners with minimal effort. Runners will start at the Bonython Park, part of the heritage listed Adelaide Parklands, and heads on to the Adelaide Oval through the War memorial drive. The course then heads along River Torrens and the Uniloop, the famous stomping grounds of many of the Adelaide running groups. The course then goes through Botanic Park, along the Zoo and back on to River Torrens to finish back at the Bonython Park.

Frontyard Ultra

Adelaide

No Time To Die Frontyard Ultra was inspired by the sister event ‘Herdy’s Frontyard in Perth where we set up a backyard ultra format event, but right in the heart of the CBD. Hence the title of a frontyard ultra. An incredibly exciting and spectator friendly ultra marathon, where runners come together every hour on the hour to set off on another lap. And the laps equate to 6.71km. That’s 6.71km on the hour, every hour through the trails and paths of Victoria Parklands in Adelaide’s Eastside. Runners keep running until they tap out or get timed out, until there is one runner standing.
