Swim with Giant Cuttlefish
Eyre PeninsulaEvery winter thousands of giant Australian cuttlefish congregate in SA. They are expert colour-changers and masters of camouflage, and can change shape and texture to look like rocks, sand or seaweed – a spectacular sight to see. Giant Australian cuttlefish congregate off the coast of Whyalla in South Australia, along a 10 km stretch of the Upper Spencer Gulf Marine Park. Cuttlefish numbers usually increase throughout May and peak in June and July when the breeding season is in full swing.

Runners will be inspired by post-bushfire regenerating flora and fauna, undulating and deviating roads, an exposed coastal section with cliff top views to the powerful southern ocean and a boardwalk leading to the iconic Remarkable Rocks.

The trail winds its way through a series of National Parks and Conservation Reserves under the Mt Lofty summit, as it makes its way across the western face of the Adelaide Hills. Never more than 12 km from the centre of Adelaide, Yurrebilla 56K Ultra offers stunning views, amazing gorges, waterfalls, wildlife and wildflowers.
Onka Six (Rogaine)

It is an extremely picturesque area, in part reminiscent of the Flinders Ranges with its folded rocks and gorgeous gum trees. There will be carpets of wildflowers to ooh and aah over, the river is stunning for those who venture down to the water, and there are even multiple waterholes to swim in if the navigation gets too hard… (or maybe that’s part of the navigation…)
